CONSTRUCTION OF REPORTING RELATED TO GENDER ISSUES ON @MAGDALENEID SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT (ROBERT N ENTMAN'S FRAMING ANALYSIS)

Magdalene.co is an online news and views portal launched in 2013. However, how do journalists package events related to gender issues and share them with the public according to their constructed views, and what are the constructions of news related to gender issues on @ magdaleneid? This research was conducted on Magdalene’s social media with a qualitative research method that aims to provide an understanding of the conditions of one context by describing in detail as well as in-depth about the portrait of the conditions of one context, what actually happened with what it was in the field with Entman’s framing model which identifies problems, looks for causes of problems, makes moral decisions and solutions to problems and is accompanied by social construction theory. Starting from the month of December 2022 to February 2023, Magdalene.id on its Instagram uploaded 132 posts, including 11 posts about health, especially regarding discrimination against people with HIV and PLWHA, 4 posts about LGBTQ, 2 posts about women’s leadership, 9 posts about sexism or society’s expectations of gender roles, 5 posts about gender discrimination, 9 posts about sexual violence and harassment, 5 posts about patriarchy, 7 posts about gender equality, 5 posts about talk rooms and training discussing gender issues and 75 posts discussing issues outside of gender. The role of the media in addressing gender issues has grown significantly. With platforms like @magdaleneid, journalists are not only carriers of information but also agents of social change.
